Any adult over the age of 65 is a potential victim of Elder Abuse.
And, although Elder Abuse is rapidly on the rise, authorities estimate
that only 1 in 5 cases is ever reported.

IMPACT PSA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) multi-media Production Company, based in Los Angeles, California. It is IMPACT PSA's mission to utilize visual media to heighten public awareness and advance knowledge about the signs and scope of Elder Abuse.

Founded in 1997 by accomplished and award-winning entertainment and law professionals, IMPACT PSA was one of the first U.S. organizations to urge greater awareness about Elder Abuse.

Elder Abuse assumes many forms.
Some of the most prevalent are:

  • Physical Abuse
  • Psychological Abuse/Verbal Abuse
  • Caregiver Neglect
  • Self-Neglect
  • Financial Exploitation

Because of limited media attention, the public continues to have little knowledge about the increasing millions of elders being abused each year.

OUR MEDIA CAMPAIGN:
"Elder Abuse. There's Just No Excuse."

IMPACT PSA'S Media Campaign: "Elder Abuse. There's Just No Excuse" is designed to increase awareness and equip our society to meet immediate challenges, as well as those challenges that certainly lie ahead as the baby boomers age and reach retirement.

For the Campaign, we have produced Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to heighten public awareness about the signs, scope, and prevention of Elder Abuse.

WHO KNEW? Addresses the lack of awareness of about Elder Abuse. It features actress/director Melanie Mayron

I DIDN'T KNOW Addresses the lack of awareness of about Elder Abuse by the general public.

SPILLED MILK Addresses the issues of caregiver burnout and emotional abuse. The spot was co-created with the advertising agency DMB&B Los Angeles, and directed by actress/director Melanie Mayron ("thirtysomething") and director Catlin Adams (Beverly Hills, 90210). The spot's distinctive voiceover is Academy Award-winning actress Linda Hunt (CSI Los Angeles). 30 seconds.

WHO CARES? Addresses neglect by caregivers. Available in both 30-second and 60-second versions,
